Events offered at Alexian Village of Milwaukee in October

 

Health and Wellness Fair

Thursday, October 6

10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Over 30 area exhibitors offering a wealth of information to improve your health, including these free screenings: balance, stroke risk assessment, blood pressure, strength and flexibility screening. Flu vaccines and pneumonia vaccines will be available. Medicare and other insurance will be accepted or if paying privately, you will be charged $30.00 for a flu vaccine or $65.00 for a pneumonia vaccine. Refreshments are provided and door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes. No RSVP is necessary. Join us at the Alexian Brothers Pavilion located at 9225 N. 76th

 

Holy Hill Fall Tour Bus Trip & Lunch

Monday, October 10

10 am – 3 pm

Enjoy the winding passes through Holy Hill and enjoy lunch at Ponderosa. The bus will leave from the Alexian Brothers Pavilion located at 9225 N. 76th at 10:00 a.m. Seating is limited so make your reservations by calling 1-800-251-4600 no later than October 5. $13.00 covers lunch and transportation.

 

Understanding the Aging Process

Tuesday, October 11

1:00 – 2:00 pm

Gina Botshtein, M.S.W., A.P.S.W. and vice president of Older Adult Services at Jewish Family Services will discuss what is normal aging, how to broach difficult subjects and how to navigate the social services system. Sandwich Generation Support Group Meeting

Wednesday, October 12

6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Caring for aging parents and your own children as at the same time? Join other “Sandwich Generation” members to discuss critical issues, share solutions and offer encouragement. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month in the Alexian Brothers Pavilion located at 9225 N. 76th Street. Complimentary sandwiches will be served. Shaking the Salt Habit

Tuesday, October 18

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Dr. Joshua Liberman, cardiologist, will discuss the science behind what salt can do to our hearts, the rest of our bodies and the impact on our overall health. Secure Document Shredding Day

Thursday, October 20

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Prevent identity theft by having your personal documents shredded for you for free at the Alexian Brothers Pavilion located at 9225 N. 76th Street. Limit two boxes per person. No RSVP necessary.
