Homestead Hall of Fame ceremonies this weekend

Basketball star Terry Preston, football All-American Darnell Smith, track and cross country aces Julie Schlitz and Robin Young and long-time team motivator Pastor Ellsworth Freyer are included in the 2009 class of the Homestead Athletic Hall of Fame.

The group will be introduced at halftime of the Port Washington football game at 7 p.m. Friday with the induction ceremony to take place at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Homestead cafeteria.

Each inductee is presented with a plaque by the person who nominated them. In addition, a plaque is hung up in the field house lobby.

The Hall of Fame program honors distinguished athletes and coaches and those who have otherwise contributed well to the Homestead athletic program.
