Police report: Dec. 17

· A diamond ring valued at more than $8,600 and a sweater and dress valued at $100 were taken from the 13700 block of North Lake Shore Drive sometime before 3:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Entry was gained through an unlocked door.


· Two nylon briefcases, reported having "little value," were taken from a locked car in the 11700 block of North Port Washington Road sometime before 9:30 p.m. Dec. 6. Damage to a window was $187.

· Five cars were entered and items taken including wallets with credit cards and cash, gym equipment, Milwaukee Bucks memorabilia, jewelry and a digital media player in the 11600 and 11700 blocks of North Port Washington Road sometime 9 to 9:40 p.m. Dec. 12. Windows were broken to gain entry. The value of the items taken and the cost of the damages were not available. The police reported the thefts are similar to ones occurring in New Berlin and are working with police there.


· A 54-year-old Grafton man was arrested for drunken driving, unreasonable and imprudent speed, hit and run/failure to report an accident after a call reporting "large explosions" in the 2300 block of West Bonniwell Road at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 11. Police found a van fully engulfed in fire that had driven off the road and hit a tree. Footprints from that van led them to a nearby home where the man, who had cuts and bruises but declined medical assistance, was found. He failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.16. He was taken for a blood draw.


· An 18-year-old Minnesota man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking along with an 18-year-old Texas man and two Illinois women, 18 and 19, after the car they were in was stopped for a broken tail light in the 2100 block of West Highland Road at 2 a.m. Dec. 7. The driver, of South Carolina who was over 21, was not cited.


No reportable incidents.
