Mequon-Thiensville Police Reports: July 24, 2014

· A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft of a 1996 Dodge van from the 9700 block of North Wauwatosa Road during the day Friday, July 11. After taking the van, the boy turned himself in to Milwaukee police, admitting the theft and was being held for other car thefts in the city.

· A Samsung S5 phone valued at $800 was taken from a display at Verizon, 11061 North Port Washington Road, about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. An employee had been speaking to the suspect and, when distracted for a few seconds, the man grabbed the phone and fled.

· A company laptop computer valued at $300 was taken from an unlocked car at Metro Market, 11558 North Port Washington Road, June 11 and reported on Wednesday, July 16. According to the owner, no company information was on the computer.

· Eight wedding cards containing cash and checks totaling $1,500 to $2,000 were taken during a wedding reception in the 13300 block of North Hawthorne Court at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17. One check was cashed and there is a suspect, a female, listed as an employee.

Drug possession

· Two girls and a boy, 17-years-old, and two 18-year-old boys, all of Mequon, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and the boys also for possession of marijuana in the 9700 block of North Cedarburg Road at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8. Police were called by a neighbor who said the home owners were out of town and there were cars in the driveway and on the grass at that residence. When police arrived, no one would answer the door and a search warrant was issued. Inside the home were two glass bongs and a grinder with marijuana residue, rolling papers, eye drops and numerous "dime bags," holding more than 3 grams of marijuana. One of the girls had access to the home because she was dog sitting while the family was gone.

· A 46-year-old Grafton man was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and suspended registration on West County Line and North Cedarburg roads at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. When police stopped the car, the man was shaking and nervous and there was a strong odor of marijuana in the car. When asked about the drug, the man pulled up his pant legs to reveal bulging socks where a homemade pipe with residue and 3.8 grams of marijuana were found.


· A 28-year-old Burlington woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling, screaming and ranting at a man at Gathering on the Green, 4100 W. Highland Road, at 8:12 p.m. on Friday, July 11. The woman, who had been drinking, admitted getting angry when the man, her boyfriend, arrived late and she felt disrespected. He was late because of work.
