Mequon Police Reports

April 29, 2014



· An 18-year-old Brown Deer woman was arrested for theft from her employer, Metro Market, 11558 N. Port Washington Road, at 7:15 p.m. April 18. She admitted taking used coupons and food from the store. No value was listed.


· A backpack containing a large glass jar with marijuana stems, three pipes and other smaller jars all with marijuana residue was found near N. Robin and W. Glenbrook lanes at 7:10 a.m. April 20. Also inside the bag was a list of names and addresses. The case is under investigation.


· A 24-year-old Grafton man was arrested for drunken driving, driving without a valid license, and unsafe lane deviation after he drove into a ditch at N. Lake Shore Drive and W. Highland Road at 4:18 a.m. April 19. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a blood draw.

· A 51-year-old Jackson man was arrested for drunken driving and suspended registration in the 6800 block of W. Mequon Road at 2:40 p.m. April 19. The man, who failed field sobriety tests, said he had one beer and that it was "not a big deal." His BAC was 0.27.


· A resident reported that her credit card number had been used fraudulently at two Milwaukee Pick 'n Save stores for a total of $622 April 22. She had used that card at Michael's a few months before and still had it in her possession. Her bank has or will refund the charges.

· Two residents reported attempted fraud when selling items on Craigslist April 22 and 23. Both received checks of at least $1,200 more than the purchase price and told to return the overpayment via a Western Union money gram. One resident called the company listed on the check in Oakland, Calif., and was told company checks had been stolen and used fraudulently nationwide. No losses were reported to the residents.
