Police Report: Feb. 7

Tools valued at more than $20,000 were taken from an unlocked unattached garage in the 10600 block of North Wauwatosa Road the day or late evening Feb. 2. A number of burglaries have been reported in this area, and again, police urge residents to be aware and report anything suspicious.


A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for two counts of theft and possession of marijuana after attempting to take liquor from Metro Market, 11558 N. Port Washington Road, at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 2. The two were recognized as they entered the store because they had been caught on surveillance video taking more than $400 of liquor Jan. 23 and 25. They were also wearing the same clothes they wore during those thefts. The woman admitted they were there to "steal liquor." The marijuana, was in plain sight in the ashtray of the couple's car.


A 20-year-old Appleton woman and four men, 19 and 20, of Brown Deer, Oneida, Cumberland and Schererville, Ind., were arrested for underage drinking and possession of alcohol at the Ozaukee Ice Center, 5505 W. Pioneer Road, at 9 p.m. Jan. 27. A witness saw them stumbling around as they arrived and called police. The group was found with beer and rum. Some were students at Concordia University.



A 21-year-old Port Washington man was arrested for drunken driving, drug possession, open intoxicants and carrying a concealed weapon in the 200 block of Elm Street at 6:39 p.m. Jan. 29. The man was initially stopped for littering, but a strong odor of alcohol was on his breath. A search of the car produced marijuana, marijuana pipes, brandy and a large tactical combat knife.
