Ladies Night Out set for Thiensville

It's hard to say the words "It's ladies night" without singing them a little. Thank you, Kool & the Gang.

The occasion for the song is Ladies Night Out in Thiensville, where women can shop - snacking on hors d'oeuvres and drinking champagne as they do. Forty-two businesses from floral shops to sports pubs will be open for Ladies Night, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

It works like this: Look for the Ladies Night Out trailer parked at the south end of Walgreens' parking lot at 278 N. Main St. The first 1,000 women to check in there will receive a free tote bag. There is also free event shuttle service to participating stores, art galleries and other businesses.

The evening also includes the Small Town Big Heart Food Drive. Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit and support Family Sharing Food Pantry of Ozaukee County. Leave the items in barrels located through the village.

The night is sponsored by the Thiensville Business Association and Columbia St. Mary's Hospital. For a list of stores, see thiensvillebusiness.com/.
