Mequon's C. Adams Bakery and cafe to open next week

A popular bakery in the Milwaukee Public Market expects to open its second location -- this one with a cafe serving breakfast all day -- in Mequon next week.

Owner Lisa Krum is putting the finishing touches on C. Adams Bakery and Logan's Cafe this week and next, and hopes to open by the end of next week at 10492 N. Port Washington Road in the Pavilions. It's in a freestanding building that also houses Einstein's Bagels.

It will be a couple of weeks after that before the cafe begins serving breakfast, Krum said by phone, but tables that seat a total of 28 will be available for customers who want to have their coffee and baked goods in instead of carrying out.

The bakery in the public market in downtown Milwaukee will remain open, Krum said, but most production will move to Mequon. The new store, which will be open daily, will offer C. Adams' first line of bread and an expanded line of decorated cakes.
