Mequon Police Department – Citizens’ Police Academy

The Mequon Police Department will be hosting a Citizens’ Police Academy, beginning on Wednesday March 9th, 2011. The academy will meet on six consecutive Wednesdays, ending on Wednesday, April 13th, 2011. Classes are held at the Mequon Police Department, 11300 N. Buntrock Avenue, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.

Participants will receive interactive, hands-on instruction in the role and duties of a police officer. Hands-on instruction includes drug identification and detection, operating while intoxicated enforcement, traffic stops, use-of-force issues, crime scene investigation, criminal law, and much more.

Participants must live or work in Mequon or Thiensville and be at least 20 years of age. There is no fee for attending this course.

Applications are available at the Mequon Police Department or by mail (upon request).
